Erin Hays is a playwright, screenwriter, and TV writer who focuses on female-driven calls to adventure. Originally from a small town in the Midwest and now based in NYC, she knows a lot about close communities and sprawling cities, and she uses that knowledge to write about tight-knit groups in big sci-fi / adventure / fantasy worlds. What she wants most is to tell really interesting stories with powerful themes and characters people really care about—often characters who are coming together to affect real change in their lives and in their worlds in ways they could never dream of achieving on their own—and ultimately, she hopes to work with teams of people with a similar vision to put together the best stories out there.

Erin previously worked as a theater assistant at the Gersh Agency in New York and as a member of Second Stage Theatre's Student Leadership Forum. She is a former Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Artist in Residence and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America. She holds a BA in theater studies and psychology from Yale and an MFA from Northwestern’s Writing for the Screen + Stage program.
